The City Headlines
Ludhiana, October 14
The Civil Hospital in Ludhiana has always been in controversy for its pathetic conditions. No improvement has still been made and the atmosphere at the hospital seems like a breeding home for several diseases.
The Punjab Health System Corporation has ranked Civil Hospital Ludhiana third in the list of the Government Hospital in Punjab.
Wheelchairs, beds worth lakhs have been broken and dumped. There is no cleanliness in the hospital premises and the conditions are pitiable. Looking at the stagnant water, broken dustbins, water leakage, moss and dumps, the rank it has received by the Punjab Health System Corporation seems mysterious.
The reports suggest that PHSC conducted an audit of the cleanliness, sanitation, and other facilities of the hospital through video conferencing this year. Therefore, it raises questions on the checking and the audit of PHSC as well.
Civil Hospital Ludhiana got a score of 79.9 out of 100. Also, reports suggest that no other health and wellness centre of the district received more than 70. However, the conditions seemed much better than the Civil Hospital.
The sub-divisional hospital of Jagraon, Samrala and Raikot have received more than 80.
