Ludhiana, December 25
The deceased of the Ludhiana Court Complex bomb blast has been identified as a dismissed policeman. 29-year-old Gagandeep Singh Gaggi lost his life in the blast.
He resided in Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar in Khanna. His father’s name is Amarjit Singh.
In the year 2019, he was dismissed from the police department as he was arrested with heroin.
He was in jail for two years and on September 8, 2021, he was out on bail. The sources suggest that Gagandeep Singh Gaggi had links with Babbar Khalsa International.
The police are also not denying the fact that he was carrying the bomb inside the Court Complex. However, no such confirmation has been made yet.
The STF team of Punjab Police had arrested him with 785 grams of heroin. On August 11, 2019, a case was registered against him under NDPS Act in Mohali Phase-4 Police Station.
Gagandeep Singh’s body was in a severe condition. His family also identified him through the religious tattoo of Khanda on his arm.
The team of NIA got the clue of the deceased from the mobile phone, SIM card and the dongle recovered from the spot. The dongle belonged to the person residing in Khanna, who further, informed the police about Gagandeep Singh Gaggi.
Later, the police raided his house where the family members identified him. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Because of the religious tattoo on his arm, the family identified the deceased.
In the year 2011, Gagandeep Singh Gaggi joined the Punjab Police as a constable. Later, he was promoted as Head Constable.
Gagandeep Singh Gaggi has also worked in Machiwara and Samrala.
