Dr. Amar Singh, MP Shri Fatehgarh Sahib met Union Minister for Fertilizers and Health Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi and highlighted the shortage of DAP (Di-ammonium Phosphate) being faced by farmers in his constituency and elsewhere in Punjab.
He requested the Minister to release an adequate supply of DAP as farmers needed it immediately. Amar Singh told the Minister that earlier farmers had a difficult time concerning urea supply and now were facing a severe shortage of DAP.
Lastly, Dr Amar Singh told the Minister that if not resolved quickly small and marginal farmers would be most affected and it was the duty of the Fertilizer Ministry and Government of India to ensure that the smallest farmers get their share of Fertilizers at a just cost and on time.
The Minister on his part instructed concerned officers to look into the matter and ensure proper supply for the Shri Fatehgarh Sahib constituency.
