Failing to rob a car, miscreants in Ludhiana’s posh area, shoots car owner

Three bike-borne miscreants in Ludhiana shot a car owner on Saturday. As per the reports, the accused were trying to abduct the car owner at gunpoint.

They sat in the car with the owner and on their way, the owner gained some courage and tried to save his car from the robbers. Though he saved his car, the miscreants shot the owner in his left thigh.

The victim Sanjeev Verma has filed a complaint with the police. He was rushed to Dayanand Medical College for treatment.

ASI Ranjit Singh reportedly informed that the victim Sanjeev Verma is a resident of village Daad in Ludhiana. In his statement to the police, Sanjeev reportedly said that he has a business related to building materials. At around 7:30 pm, he went to Pakhowal Road in his car to buy groceries.

When he reached near Keys Hotel, three bike-borne robbers stopped him on the pretext of asking for an address. Sanjeev was explaining them the way, but suddenly, one of the three robbers pointed a gun at him. The other one pushed Sanjeev, sat on the driver’s seat and drove the car.

Near Nirankari Bhawan, the accused tried to throw Sanjeev out of the car. But somehow, Sanjeev managed to pull on of the three miscreants along with him. The other one fired a bullet on Sanjeev’s thigh. They took away Sanjeev’s car keys and fled on the motorcycle.

The police suggest that for further probe into the matter, CCTV footage of the crime spot is being procured.
