The Bench was headed by the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana. It has directed Ashish Mishra to surrender before the court within a week.

On February 10, the Allahabad High Court granted him bail in the middle of the campaign for the UP elections. However, the bail was then challenged by the families of the farmers who were killed during the violence.
