Ludhiana, January 10
Covid numbers in Ludhiana are rapidly increasing and the situation is worsening every day for Ludhianavis.
On Monday, January 10, as many as 868 new coronavirus cases have been reported. Out of those, 806 belong to Ludhiana and 62 belong to other districts and states. 106 people are those who came in contact with infected people. Other than that, 34 healthcare workers have bee tested positive for coronavirus. Also, 5 undertrial prisoners have also been tested positive for coronavirus today.
Three deaths have also been reported in Ludhiana today. A 44-year-old male from Basti Jodhewal, 59-year-old from Machiwara Khas and a 55-year-old male from Jamalpur have lost their lives.
These patients were admitted to DMCH, GMC Hospital Sector 32, and Civil Hospital Ludhiana.
The number of active cases is about to reach the 3000 mark in Ludhiana. Currently, there are 2931 active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana. Out of those, 2873 are home isolated. 7 are kept in a government facility and 30 are admitted to private hospitals.
The death toll in Ludhiana because of coronavirus has 2124. On Monday, the number of samples taken for coronavirus testing is 3239.
