Ludhiana, January 30
Punjab Congress on Sunday released its final list of eight candidates for the 2022 Assembly elections. Congress has fielded Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from two assembly constituencies- Chamkaur Sahib and Bhadaur.
From Ludhiana South, Ishwarjot Singh Cheema has got the ticket from Congress. He will contest the elections against sitting MLA from Lok Insaf Party Balwinder Singh Bains, Shiromani Akali Dal’s Hira Singh Gabria, AAP’s Rajinder Pal Cheena and Satinder Pal Singh Tajpuri of Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress.
Other than Chamkaur Sahib, Charanjit Singh Channi will contest elections from Bhadaur seat. Against Sukhbir Singh Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal, Congress has fielded Mohan Singh Phalianwala. In Patiala, Congress has given the ticket to Vishnu Sharma. His key rival would be Captain Amarinder Singh.
Barnala MLA ticket has been given to Manish Bansal. In Attari, Tarsem Singh Sialka will contest the elections from Congress. Sukhpal Singh Bhullar has got the Khem Karan ticket from Congress. The party has given the Nawan Shahr MLA ticket to Satbir Singh Saini Balichiki.
