The power supply and electricity get costlier in Punjab from April 1. It is to be noted that Charanjit Singh Channi’s government had reduced the electricity rates in Punjab.
The electricity prices for the domestic consumers having a load of up to 7 KiloWatt were reduced by Rs. 3 during the Channi government’s tenure. However, these reduced prices were to be provided only till April 1. From now, the consumers will get electricity at an increased price.
According to the new orders, now the electricity rate for consumers with a load up to 7 kiloWatt has been fixed at Rs 3.74 per unit for the first 100 units. For 100 to 300 units, the price is Rs 5.84 per unit and Rs 7.30 per unit for more than 300 units.
