As the government of India has approved the availability of booster dose in the private clinics and hospitals for the people above the age of 18, the prices have also been declared by the Serum Institute of India.
Serum Institute has made an announcement in which it has said that the Covishield booster dose will be available to the general public at a price of Rs. 225 (plus taxes). It is to be noted that hospitals will procure the Covishield vaccine at a discounted price.
Other than that, Covaxin would be available to the public at a price of Rs. 225 (plus taxes).
It is to be noted that the vaccinations would be available at the private centres from Sunday. On Saturday, the prices have been revised.
Earlier, Covishield was priced at Rs. 600 and Covaxin was priced at Rs. 120. However, Adar Poonawala, the CEO of Serum Institute of India, has revised the prices after discussion with the Central government.

The Union Health Ministry in a statement had said that the booster dose for the 18+ age group will be made available at private vaccination centres.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya also said, “All 18+ who have completed 9 months after the administration of 2nd dose, would be eligible for the booster dose.”
It is to be noted that till now, the Union government has provided the vaccines to the general public for free. Most of the population across the country has received both doses of coronavirus vaccines for free. However, now, people will have to pay for the booster dose.
