Bhartiya Janta Party is likely to decide their candidates today for the MLA seats in the upcoming Assembly elections in Punjab. The Central Election Committee meeting today, senior BJP leaders will decide the candidates for the party for the five poll-bound states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa and Uttarakhand.
The sources suggest that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also join the party through video conferencing. Other than that, the covid positive members of the Chief Election Committee will also join the meeting through video conferencing.
The reports suggest that the BJP has also decided on the alliance formula, but the final call is expected to be taken today.
BJP in Punjab
In Punjab, Punjab is in alliance with Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal Sanykut. In Punjab, Bhartiya Janta Party is expected to contest elections from 80 seats out of the total 117. Also, the reports suggest that Bhartiya Janta Party will get the seats mostly from Majha and Doaba region. SAD (Sanyukt) and Punjab Lok Congress are expected to get their seats from the Malwa region.
