Senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from his post of Punjab Congress Chief today. He resigned as PPCC Chief on Wednesday, March 16.
He took to Twitter to share his resignation letter. He wrote, “I hereby resign as President (PPCC).”

It is to be noted that on Tuesday evening, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had demanded resignation from the PCC Chiefs of the five states where elections happened recently. Within 24 hours, Navjot Sidhu resigned from his post.
In these elections, Navjot Singh Sidhu lost from Amritsar East seat to Aam Aadmi Party’s Jeevanjot Kaur.
In all the states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur, Congress’ performance has remained poor.
In Punjab, out of 117 assembly seats, Congress managed to win only 18 seats.
