Ludhiana, February 16
Punjabi actor and social activist Deep Sidhu was cremated today in Threeke village of Ludhiana in the presence of his family members and supporters. Deep Sidhu’s brother, advocate Mandeep Singh was the one who did his last rites.
All the rituals took place at Mandeep’s home. The youth was carrying flags, along with photographs of Deep Sidhu. They raised slogans saying “Deep Sidhu Amar Rahe”. A number of Nihangs also visited to pay tributes to Deep Sidhu.
His supporters from not only Punjab but from Haryana also, came to offer their condolences. A lot of his supporters who reached at Deep Sidhu’s cremation called it murder and a planned conspiracy.
Deep Sidhu’s uncle Suba Singh also said that though it look like a road accident, the family would demand an inquiry into the case. Lakha Sidhana, Simarjit Singh Mann of SAD (Amritsar), for whom Deep Sidhu was last seen campaigning, also reached out to pay their condolences.
Yesternight, Deep Sidhu met with an accident at the KMP Expressway while he was returning from Delhi. His White Scorpio car rammed into a truck.
