More than 83 cases every hour
As many as 2007 new coronavirus cases have been witnessed in Ludhiana today, the highest number this year. Also, a record, 9 deaths have been reported in Ludhiana today.
Of the 2007 new cases reported today, 1808 belong to Ludhiana and 199 belong to other districts and states.
With nine deaths reported today, the death toll in Ludhiana has reached 2134. Also, 1070 people belonging to other states and districts also lost their lives in Ludhiana due to covid.
The active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana has skyrocketed in just one day. The number had reached 5756. Of those, 5660 are home isolated, 10 are admitted to government hospitals and 86 are admitted to private hospitals.
Nine Deaths reported in a day
89-year-old man, a resident of Omaxe Plaza, 53-year-old woman, resident of Haibowal Kalan, 71-year-old man, resident of Basti Jodhewal, 72-year-old man, resident of GTB Nagar, 73-year-old man, resident of Narinder Nagar, 92-year-old woman, resident of Khudd Mohalla, 45-year-old man, resident of Dhandari Kalan died due to Coronavirus today. Two people, one from Mandi Gobindgarh and one from Hoshiarpur, also lost their lives because of the virus today.
15 active micro-containment zones in Ludhiana
With a rising number of coronavirus cases in Ludhiana, the number of micro-containment zones is also increasing.
Currently, there are 15 active micro-containment zones in Ludhiana.

30 percent samples test positive
It is to be noted that 6601 samples were taken for Coronavirus testing. Of those, 2007 has been found positive today. The coronavirus testing has also increased. Today, 6230 samples were taken and sent for testing.
