A group of Nihangs has reportedly taken responsibility for the brutal murder of a man near the Singhu border. Earlier in the day, Samyukta Kisan Morcha has also blamed Nihangs for the incident. The murder was reported on Friday, October 15, near the Singhu border protest site.
According to the police, the body was hanged to a barricade near Kundli in the Sonipat district of Haryana.
The deceased’s hand and legs were chopped off and he was just wearing shorts. He has been identified as Lakhbir Singh, son of Darshan Singh, a resident of village Cheema Kalan, Police Station Sarai Amanat Khan, Tarn Taran.
The Nihangs reportedly claimed that the incident took place as the deceased attempted to sacrilege with the Sarbaloh Granth.
