After the controversial Golden Temple sacrilege case, a similar incident has been reported in the Kapurthala district of Punjab on Sunday. The unidentified youth was beaten to death in Kapurthala also.

According to the reports, the incident took place in a Gurudwara near Nijampur village in the Kapurthala district. Over an alleged disrespect of the Nishan Sahib (the Sikh Flag), the youth was reportedly beaten to death.

Accused of the sacrilege in Kapurthala who was beaten to death

According to the reports, the police tried to save the accused from the outraged Sikh youth. An SHO and two ASIs were injured while trying to save the youth.

The caretaker of the Gurudwara live-streamed from his Facebook account and alleged an attempt to sacrilege. He was then confined in a compound inside the gurudwara. The reports suggest that the caretaker did not report the incident to the police even though the police station was near the gurudwara premises.

The caretaker said that the youth had disrespected the Nishan Sahib. Then he asked the Sikh groups to rush to the gurudwara and also reportedly said that they would not handle him to the police. Even an announcement was made in the Gurudwara asking people to come to the place.

The only thing that the accused revealed was that he belonged to Delhi and his sister was also killed for the sacrilege. The accused was reportedly taken to Kapurthala Civil Hospital, where he was declared dead.
