Ludhiana, February 23
The youngsters in Ludhiana, preparing for IELTS and aspiring to go abroad for studies, protested outside private immigration centres in Ferozepur Road.
They were members of the Indian-Montreal Youth Student Organisation. The protesting youth were demanding a refund from three Canadian Colleges of Montreal that went shut abruptly.
As per the reports, around 1700 students who studied online from these colleges are denied visa now. 1100 of them are in Canada and 600 are in Punjab.
The institutes include College de Comptabilite et de Secretariat du Quebec (CCSQ), College de I’Estrie (CDE), and M College. The students and the youth raised slogans against the Canadian government. They were demanding an immediate refund. Some also said that they will go on a hunger strike if their demands are not fulfilled.
As per the reports, the aforementioned institutes were among the 10 private colleges in Canada which were being investigated for allegedly wrong recruitment practices.
