Ludhiana Commissioner of Police says, “deceased may have tried to plant bomb inside Court Complex”

It is suspected that the deceased tried to plant the bomb inside the Ludhiana Court Complex. However, while planting the bomb, he himself fell prey to it.

Even the Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the same. He said, “Probably, the person found dead was carrying the explosive. However, nothing is confirmed yet.”

The entire court complex was evacuated for security reasons. Police also evacuated the district administration office. The entire area has also been sealed off.

Shortly after the incident, Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa and DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyay rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.

The forensic team and the NSG team from Delhi have been called in to find out what material was used for the blast. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi also reached Ludhiana and held a meeting with police officials.

The court complex is just behind the Ludhiana Commissioner of Police and DC’s office. Everything was going normally in the court complex on Thursday.

At around 12:15 pm, a sudden explosion was witnessed because of which, there has been a sense of fear in the city.

The woman, who was sitting outside the bathroom with a photostat machine, was severely injured. People and lawyers ran for their lives. At the scene of the blast, some people rescued the injured and admitted them to various hospitals.

As the deceased was not identified, it is being speculated that the deceased may have brought the bomb and detonated it while planting the bomb.

Home Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa visited the site of the bomb blast, Civil Hospital and DMC Hospital. Sharanjit Kaur and Sandeep Kaur, both women admitted to the Civil Hospital, said that the blast was so horrific that they could not hear anything.
