COVID SURGE IN PUNJAB: Without any word on political rallies, Punjab government issues strict guidelines

As the number of coronavirus cases is rapidly increasing in Punjab, the state government has issued strict guidelines on January 4. The schools and colleges will remain shut till January 15. Other than that, night curfew has been imposed in Punjab. From 10 pm to 5 am, the night curfew will remain in force.

All the educational institutes will remain closed in the state. The online classes shall continue. The medical and nursing institutes are allowed to function normally. Also, multiplexes, cinemas, bars, restaurants, spas, zoos and museums can operate at 50% capacity. Also, all the staff members must be fully vaccinated.

Gyms, sports complexes, stadiums, swimming pools will also remain closed as per the new guidelines. Only those training for national and international sports events will be allowed access to gyms and stadiums.

Only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to visit and attend the government and the private organizations in Punjab.

In the guideline issued today, nothing has been discussed or announced about the political rallies in the poll-bound state of Punjab. As many as 419 coronavirus cases have been reported in Punjab on Monday, January 4. On December 28, the number of coronavirus cases in Punjab was only 51. An exponential rise in coronavirus cases has been witnessed within a week.
