AAP’s Bhagwant Mann to contest elections from Dhuri, know his rivals

AAP’s Chief Minister face Bhagwant Mann will contest the Assembly elections from Dhuri constituency of Sangrur.

Dhuri is an important seat in the Malwa region of Punjab. It is one of the five assembly constituencies of Sangrur.

In the 2017 Assembly elections, Dalvir Singh Goldie won elections. Jasvir Singh Jassi of the Aam Aadmi Party received the second-highest number of votes.

Bhagwant Mann has won the Lok Sabha elections from Sangrur, twice. In the yea 2014, he got the ticket from Aam Aadmi Party and won the elections. In the year 2019 as well, he won the Lok Sabha seat from AAP.

He was the only one who managed to win a Lok Sabha seat for Aam Admi Party in 2019. From Congress, Dalvir Singh Goldy will contest the elections in the Dhuri constituency. As mentioned earlier, he is the sitting MLA.

Shiromani Akali Dal’s Prakash Chand Garg has been announced as the candidate for Dhuri. He had won the 2012 elections from Sangrur against Surinderpal Sibia of Congress. However, in 2017, he lost the elections to Congress’ Vijay Inder Singla.
